I am Andrew Long, the founder of Know Social Media. I am a former Academic from the University of Otago but now work fulltime helping businesses with their social media needs. I have a long standing interest in social media and a passion for empowering people through thoughtful technological choices. I see my role as a social media pragmatist rather than evangelist.

Through my work at the University (teaching and researching social media), interactions with local businesses (workshops and consultations with 150+), talking with media (e.g., The Listener, TV3) and feeding my daily social media obsession (participating, reading, blogging, doing, ...), I have developed the necessary skillset to provide high-quality, professional services.

Know Social Media is located in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is a wonderful city in a great country with a unique community and culture. While based here, we encourage interest from businesses anywhere in the world.
